Anastasia was the first to contact Steven, with an email, midweek, early December 2005. We had a few conversations on the phone, and planned on meeting that following Saturday. Steven picked me up curbside outside the nurses residence at Mount Sinai Hospital,in South Beach Miami. So with his mom and sister Eleni in town, I braved the trip up to Delray Beach, and spent a second, and a third date with Steven, his mom, and his sister. After falling in love with his mom and his sister, I then realized I was fall ing in love with him. I knew on the second date that he was "the one". We parted ways over the holidays, running up our phone bills while he was in Key West, Florida and myself, in Windsor, Ontario. We came back together December 31, 2005 to bring in the New Year, and we have been inseparable ever since. After dating for a year and a half, he proposed to me on Seven Mile Beach in the Grand Cayman Isle. After a year engagement, we got married at St. Haralambos Church in Canton, Ohio on May 28, 2008! November 3, 2004 I sent a fateful flirt to Nikmx5 all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to Nicosia, Cyprus. I had bought my very first computer just a month earlier so I was brand new to the Internet. I was going through a friendly divorce, and made up may mind that now I was going to look for a man with my same Greek heritage who loved and needed the Church as much as I do. I jokingly Googled “Greek men” one day when I came across the website Eligible Greeks. I posted a profile under the screen name Enite without a picture. (I was still a little shy about this whole thing, and what if someone from my hometown saw me!?) So I browsed the gallery for a couple of nights, which shows pictures of men who are online using the sight. I saw Nikmx5 and was awestruck with his grace and good looks. I read his profile and he sounded very special and I thought, “Oh what the heck, he’s in Cyprus, what can it hurt to send him a flirt and tell him how hot he is. We’ll never meet!” So I did! Never in a million years did I think I would hear back from him. Well, I did!!! He sent me an engaging and friendly email and we started corresponding. It wasn’t long before we had our first long distance phone conversation. Exactly one year after we met on line I made arrangements to come meet him in person in Cyprus. I stayed for ten days, met his family, and had a wonderful time touring the island and getting to know Nik. Before I left, he took me to the most romantic dinner in Old Nicosia at an outdoor café where we shared mezze. That night he uttered the magic words I will never forget, “What would it take to get you to stay?” And I answered, “Not much; you asking.” Three months later I moved, pets and all, to Cyprus. 7 months after that we were married, September 3, 2006 in Nicosia, Cyprus. In September of 2004 I discovered a website called Omogenia and after spending a number of days looking through the profiles I took the plunge and became a member. I was unsure of what to expect and unsure about whom I would meet and it took a couple of weeks before I sent a couple of flirts. Then on the 3rd November 2004, I received a life changing email…I Nikmx5, met Enite. It was an incredible way to meet someone, who has grown to be the truest love of my life and furthermore is now my treasured love and wife. Meeting Anita this way has meant that I could speak to her about anything; it allowed me to express myself in many new ways including the writing of prose. Anita has brightened my life in all aspects and if was not for the Internet and more so for Omogenia / Eligible Greeks I would have never had the opportunity of meeting such a wonderful person. On the day we met in person, it was difficult to believe that the person that I written and spoken to for one year, who lived on another continent, was standing in before me!. We spent the next ten days getting to know each other and I never wanted those days to end. First of all let me explain, I thoght I was just wasting my time on another website. Though, I thought let me try to find one of my own. At first, it was just that, no difference. I wouldn't even respond to some of the flirts. Then I started reading the profiles, and found one that sounded like someone with the same values and upbringings as myself. I decided to contact her. When she reponded to my flirt, our dialog began to grow first through e-mails, then through phone conversations. I then knew I had to meet her. Once I did I knew she truely was the person I had longed to find. Though nothing is ever easy. She was visiting her brother in Texas and realy lived in California. So when it was time for her to return home, we had to make a decision, to either continue a long distance relationship or to end the relationship and remain friends. So we tried the long distance relationship for a while. Though I knew I had to do something to change the situation. I realized I needed her around me all the time not periodicaly. I knew I was only happy when I was around her. I then was able to get a transfer for my job to the bay area. I then picked up my things and followed her across the country. I never made a better decision. I've never been happier and I can happily anounce we are engaged to be married.

The journey of Peter and Evangelia…..



I was on the site for almost 10 months, corresponding with some others, sending flirts, emails, met even a few in person but no one really caught my eye as much as Peter’s profile. It all began with a single flirt that I sent him on October 4, stating how I really enjoyed his profile **mind you, he had no picture up** and that I would hope to chat with him some time soon. The very next day Peter sent me an email telling me that he received my flirt and that he read my profile and found me to be very sweet and confident. Also stating “wow, you’re far”. Now Peter lives in Whitestone, New York and I myself live in Woodbridge, Ontario which is in Canada. Within a few corresponding emails that we exchanged, we happened to catch each other online on October 6. Soon after, we began to talk over the phone for the next few days. At that point, getting to know one another, I realized on my end that Peter and I were very similar in many ways. The more and more we spoke on the phone, the more and more I wanted to see him. Even though distance seemed to be a small obstacle, I decided to invite Peter to a wedding that I was attending on October 14, 2006. That Sunday, I finally asked him to be my date for my girlfriend’s wedding, and he replied “Yes, I would love to go with you.” So now we had a plan of action. Not being sure of whether or not he needed a passport to fly to Canada, Peter decided to take a flight from New York to Buffalo, and drive from Buffalo and cross the border into Canada and meet me in Toronto on October 13, 2006. The excitement was building on both our ends. At some point you may think that October 13th is a superstitious day or just an ordinary day like the others. Well, let me tell you what happened to Peter that day when he attempted his trip to see me. On that day, his flight was delayed at first from 11am to 3pm, and then cancelled within the hour, causing him to reschedule his flight to fly out to Washington at 6pm with a connecting flight to Buffalo. That day, Buffalo had a snowstorm, causing the airport to shut down due to the power outage the storm caused. When Peter finally arrived in Buffalo, he was stuck at the airport with no where to go because the car rental place was closed. It was a complete ghost town at this time, due to the storm, and everyone was being evacuated out of the airport. Peter ended up staying for the night at some hotel with no heat, no electricity and no power, and yet he still was determined that somehow he’s going to make it to Toronto somehow. The following morning the car rental place was re-opened, and Peter called me in the morning when he crossed the border to let me know that he’s nearing Toronto. Shortly after that, we met at a nearby hotel that I had booked for him the previous night. This is where our story begins.

Upon walking toward the room, all I was thinking about was how to approach the whole beginning, do I knock on the door or do I use my key. I decided to knock on the door, but there was no response so I decided to let myself in. When I walked in I found Pete had fallen asleep due to his whole experience within his trip to Toronto. I didn’t know how to even say hello at this point, so I stared at him for awhile and than decided to brush my hand on his leg that was when Pete opened his eyes. Then we had our first moment. We both said “Hi” and then we gave each other the sweetest, tightest hug. We later on went out for lunch and did a little shopping before getting ready for our evening event. That evening we made it to my friend’s wedding, and Pete looked so handsome, so sexy, and so sweet. I could honestly say, I’ve never felt anything like this before. Peter made me feel like I was the only one who existed in our surroundings. When we walked into the reception area and looked at the head table where the bride and groom sat, Pete turned and looked at me and said “Babe, are you going to join me up there some day?” and I responded “Most definitely, I would love to...” After the wedding reception, we went back to the hotel, and we were lost in each others eyes. Through out the whole day and evening you can imagine how many moments we both had, and the moments created such a greater and stronger feeling/bond between the both of us. That night, imagine what happened. Pete asked me, “Do you remember what I told you about me coming this weekend, what it was all about?,” and I responded “yes, you came here to verify that I was real”, and he said “yes, I came here for verification, and I got it, I love you … I knew from the very first moment that I fell in love with you and I am in love with you….” Wow!, that was a “wow” moment for me, I honestly lost my breath, I looked at him and I put up my finger so he can hold on and went to my purse to grab my puffer (I have mild asthma), just so I can catch my breath. I then looked at him, held him tightly and told him “I love you”. The next day Pete and I had lunch at my parents’ house and shortly after lunch he had to leave and head back home to New York. At first it was hard to part, but we felt a sense of ease knowing that we both were made for each other, and both of us were in love.

Two weeks went by, and not one day passed that we didn’t talk to each other on the phone or webcam each other. We were missing each other so much. I couldn’t take it anymore. I decided to book a flight to New York to go see him. So I had a plan. I played sick for my full time job, so I didn’t work on Thursday or Friday and for my part time job, I told them a week ahead that I’m not going to be here and that I will be out of town so they should not be expecting me for my shift. I finally arrived in New York on Thursday October 26 and the love of my life was there waiting for me at the airport. When I saw him, we said hi with a smile and hugged each other followed by a sweet kiss. I met Pete’s family on Friday, that is were I realized how and why Pete is who he is. His parents are phenomenal and I must say that they raised one eccentric and unique man that has made me the luckiest woman in the world. During my stay in New York, he took me to Manhattan, Times Square, the East Village and upstate to Monticello and the best part of it all, to his home. This trip was the first time I ever travelled on my own and I always had a phobia of traveling on my own especially when I’m not familiar with my surroundings. Considering my first flight went well, I wasn’t that scared to go home, but I had a little fear only because I had a connecting flight to get back to Toronto. Sunday comes along, and my flight was originally planned out to be from New York to Boston and from Boston to Toronto. My flight in New York was delayed for approximately an hour and 10 min, but due to this delay I missed my flight in Boston to get home. I had a breakdown in Boston; I got scared and didn’t know what to do. Pete saved me, my sweet dearest, my love…..he told me to stay put in the airport and that he will come get me and make sure I’ll be on a flight the next day back to Toronto. Peter drove from New York all the way to Boston in less than 3 hours. When I saw him pull up to the terminal where I was waiting, I felt a sense of ease and comfort, my baby came, I squeezed him tight and said “thank you….I love you”. We then checked into a hotel near the airport for the night and re-arranged the flight details for the following morning. He then took my breath away when he told me that “eskase h kardia mou” when he heard me cry on the phone. Every moment that we have had and every moment that we create unites us and makes our bond stronger than ever. I have to say that whoever thinks that True Love, or even Love at first sight doesn’t exist, are so wrong. Love at first sight is real, and true love does exist, and when that time comes, like everyone that’s in love always says, “you just know…..you’ll know when you’re in love”.

As a result of this new found relationship, I’m planning on moving to New York to be with Peter Thanksgiving weekend. Peter is flying up to Toronto to spend that weekend with me and my family and that Sunday we are flying back together. As I stated before, true love and love at first sight does exist. I found mine and I’m ready to make my transition to New York soon. I want to thank Eligiblegreeks.com for making it possible for Peter and I to meet because without them we would both still be searching for that special someone. We have both finally met the missing piece in our lives that makes us complete and we can now begin our journey together to create our empire. To be frank I was not willing at all to try it but then I thought I had nothing to lose. Then, your site was on, all time I spent on my computer. Then, suddenly, on one of your new members ads, I saw...her. That was it. I was attracted by her eyes, a contract of beauty but above all, honesty. I immediately signed up to your service to find out, to my horror that, that member was inactive for "more than 30 days". I was very disappointed.

I had sent her e-mails and waited for months. Each day waiting for a reply was a nightmare. Then she replied. And that was it. The beginning and the end at the same time. Key and keyhole. When it came to internet-based dating websites, I was fairly skeptical what would come out of such an endeavor. Theoretically, yes, I posted a profile to legitimately find someone who would value me as a person and eventually to pursue a relationship with a future. I quickly realized that half the battle is obtaining a membership to message someone directly or else I would be "that guy who sends flirts." I had stumbled upon various profiles but Adrienne's was the most intriguing; she was sweet, beautiful, and artistically inclined. Her value of balancing a career with a family was important to her. It turns out we both grew up several miles from each other but our paths never crossed except through EG. After looking at her profile, Adrienne decided to send me a flirt in which I promptly responded with a "real" message.

I honestly never thought that I would find love on a website. I was urged by several friends to sign up on EG for the longest time but I was very skeptical. After many failed blind dates set up by my mom's match making friends (so...my big fat greek wedding) I decided to become and EG member and just go for it.

We found that we had a lot in common...I found out that his father is from the same village as my grandmother and were practically neighbors! It's funny how things can happen in life sometimes. I found out about this site form a friend and even if I didn't believe in these kinds of relations (typical Greek i guess..!!) I thought it would be a pleasant way of killing some time. After a couple of months and just before I was ready to quit, I saw that sweet face!!! My attitude suddenly changed. I started flirting and messaging her but it seems that she was one of the most wanted people on this site, so I got no response. That made me even more determined to meeet her. Sometime in 2003, I placed a profile on EligibleGreeks.com, from a Greek friend's urging. I protested and argued that I wasn't Greek and that I'd never get a date because of this. He persuaded me and said....."What do you have to lose?" I reluctantly agreed and posted a very bland profile.

I forgot that I had posted a profile on EligibleGreeks.com, because just as I had suspected, no instant messages, no dates. Two years later..........I got an e mail from SpyrosinKentucky. I had taken a bit of a break from dating for a few months, and surprised my friends when I told them that I was going on a date with a guy who was really from Greece. Because neither of us had posted photos, we had very vauge ideas what the other looked like. I had ran late for our date that evening, and the only thing that was open for dinner past 10 pm in northern Kentucky was a place called Bar Louie that overlooked the Ohio river. Not planned, but, not bad after all, rather romantic! Spyros and I chatted well until after midnight, and ironically, I found that on his profile, the only thing that he asked for was a girl who was fluent in Greek, which I knew “giasou”, and that was it!! But, somehow, I came up as a 100% match for him...LOL!!! Well, even though I lacked communication preferences, I must have made a good impression because the next day, I was called for another date!! I am very, very happy to say, we are in the midst of planning our Sept 2, 2007 wedding!!!!

Our experience was skeptical at first because we began to correspond as friends thinking nothing can really come from the fact that he lived in Florida and I lived in CT. On August 20, 2006 I received an Eligible Greeks email from my now husband. He said that he would love to see some of my art if I cared to show it and I did so from there our friendship began to blossom. We wrote to one another as pen pals discussing everything from our own goals, dreams and aspirations to philosophy, art, current events going on in our lives and the world and our family relations. There were many times we both felt a mystical and familiar feeling when reading the messages we sent to each other. He said it was almost like one of his old friends was playing a prank on him and telling me what to write to him. I felt captivated by the way he responded to all the purely true and honest aspects of myself that I shared with him. It's important for man to know himself and what he wants like it's important for a woman to know herself and what she wants. Reading some messages I felt like I was getting to know myself better and later he expressed he felt the same. On May 25, 2007 the day we call Blissmas I flew to see him and I was almost 100% sure that I was in love. He said from the second he saw me he knew all those feelings he had summed up to love. He poetically proposed to me that weekend. He flew up and met my parents and asked for me. We went to his and now my Orthodox spiritual father and asked for a blessing. Then we went to spend a few days with his parents. Our parents got together and met eachother then with literally just our siblings and parents there we had our Justice of the Peace ceremony on June 18, 2007 with the opportunity to exchange our own vows. I originally found the website by researching various Greek related things online. After stumbling across it I thought "how could I NOT try posting on Eligible Greeks?". After a handful of connections made, none more than a initial face to face meeting, I struck it gold. I had looked at Vasilis' profile, which prompted him to send me an email. After a month of sporadic emails (it was a busy time for both of us) we got on the phone for the first time. Although the next couple of weeks were quite booked (we live 100+ miles away from each other), I was so taken with his voice and personality on the phone, I just had to meet him the next day. We met about 1/2 between us, and how lucky I felt! He was even cuter than his pictures, and everything I look for. Since then (in the past 8 months) we've spent all but 2 weekends together and plan on me following him after he moves back to Greece next month. The funny thing is that my original hope was just to find a Greek American who was more in touch with the Greek culture than I, and I stumbled upon a native Greek and the man of my dreams!!

It funny how things can happen in life sometimes.I learnt this site form a friend and even if i didnt believe in this kind of relations (typical Greek i quess..!!) I thought it would be a pleasant way of killing some time.After a couple of months and just before i was ready to quit ,i saw that sweet face!!! My point of vew suddenly changed.I started flirting and messaging her but it seems that she was one of the most wanted person in this site ,so i got no response. First, I never thought I would take the time to write about my love success, much less find love on the internet. we have all heard those terrible net stories. Where do i start? One day i was browsing the internet, to look for Greek nightclubs. that I could go to with my friends. As i clicked on Greek nightclubs , on the side of the web page, were some links for dating sites ; Greeks meet Greeks"Eligible Greeks". So , as I was browsing through peoples' profiles one caught my interest . It never came to my mind before to join a dating site . Well what did i do? I started looking through the questionare they had that you had to enter your details. I started it off to see what i would actually write if I joined the website. Then, I saved it though I didn't submit my profile , as i wasn't sure whether i was going to join or not. I wanted to think about it throughout the weekend. The next day ,which was a Saturday night, I logged on my computer and clicked on the website ,to show to a friend . Sometime in 2003, I placed a profile on EG.com, from a Greek friend's urging. I protested and argued that I wasn't Greek and that I'd never get a date because of this. He pursuaded me and said....."What do you have to lose?" I reluctantly agreed and posted a very bland profile.



I forgot that I had posted a profile on EG.com, because just as I had suspected, no instant messages, no dates. Two years later..........I got an e mail from SpyrosinKentucky. I had taken a bit of a break from dating for a few months, and surprised my friends when I told them that I was going on a date with a guy who was really from Greece. Because neither of us had posted photos, we had very vauge ideas what the other looked like. I had ran late for our date that evening, and the only thing that was open for dinner past 10 pm in northern Kentucky was a place called Bar Louie that overlooked the Ohio river. Not planned, but, not bad afterall, rather romantic! Spyros and I chatted well until after midnight, and ironically, I found that on his profile, the only thing that he asked for was a girl who was fluent in Greek, which I knew giasou, and that was it!! But, somehow, I came up as a 100% match for him...LOL!!! Well, even though I lacked communication preferences, I must have made a good impression because the next day, I was called for another date!! I am very, very happy to say, we are in the midst of planning our Sept 2, 2007 wedding!!!!

I met George April 25th 2006 and even though it hasn't been a long time that we know each other, we both feel very blessed and grateful that we finally found one another. I've never been the pursuing type and the reason how we first started talking was because George kept looking at my profile and I at his so we both knew there was an attraction to one another. This man that I've fallen in love with has captured every part of me and my heart. Its hard trying to have relationship without seeing each other but I believe it creates a better bond knowing more about each other mentally and being able to talk endlessly. Even if we have those quiet moments, we both know were thinking about one another all the time. George came to Montreal to meet me in June and on August 4th, I will be spending a week with him in Utah never wanting to let go.



At this point in time, its too early to know when we will marry one another but we're very sure it will be within a year or two. I honestly never thought that I would find love on a website. I was urged by several friends to sign up on EG for the longest time but I was very skeptical. After many failed blind dates set up by my mom's match making friends (so...my big fat greek wedding) I decided to become and EG member and just go for it. I met a couple of people that were very nice but there really was no connection. For a couple of months I kept seeing the same faces until one day in February a new face came up in my search. I had signed up to eligible greeks just for laughs,and never responded to anyone, but when demetri had wrote to me he did look familiar so i responded to him. Our parents are from the same village in Cyprus. This is a HUGE deal if you know what i mean! Harry's mother and my father went to school with each other when they were kids! His grandfather and mine were best friends!

We've also discovered our families and friends know one another, even though they live thousands of miles apart. And to top it off, he had also dated my first cousin!



I had never met Harry or had even known about this guy before EG but we were speaking over the phone almost every single day. We knew each other inside out. I was crazy about him. I was even crazy enough to book a ticket and fly to NY for the summer of 2008. We spent 2 months together and fell in love. We complimented each other in every way & had so much fun. Naturally, having to leave him was hard. I remember crying so much on the plane that I did one of those crying snorts, everyone in the seats in front of me turned back for a look!

I didn't know when I would see Harry again and I guess thats where all the tears came from.

A friend sent me the link to EligibleGreeks.com and when I went to the site, I saw someone who looked almost familiar. A week later we met for coffee in Astoria.

We had frappe and found out that I had gone to school with his best friend, so we had other common friends. Then he gave me a dozen roses and asked to see me the next day. The rest is history. I lived in Las Vegas and he was stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany proudly serving the Air Force. Victor took leave and flew half way across the world to meet me and said it was love at first sight. For the first time in my entire adult life I had searched for "the one" until one day I just gave up and I said a prayer to God and told him that my life was in his hands and then I joined this site by chance while searching for Greek music,I though why not I'll just do this for fun and I made a few friends here but I never felt like I could fall in love with them...one day I noticed this one guy being so persistent....telling me to email him but I couldn't because I was not a member and finally he messaged me and gave me his email and we hit it of from there....we have so much in common that we instantly fell in love with each other..we had already liked what we saw in each others profile and it was even better when we saw each other on the wbcam. He lives in Sydney, Australia and I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and in spite of the distance between us we still love each other very much and we plan to have a wonderful future together for the rest of our lives.
