Krinos Foods has long been a prominent importer, distributor, and manufacturer of Greek and Middle-Eastern specialty foods in North America. After many successful years in the business, it has opened a new "state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot facility" located in the Bronx.

The grand opening included the ceremonial ribbon cutting by the Krinos Foods Chairman, Eric Moscahlaidis. Guests received a tour pf the new facility which Moscalhlaidis hopes will employ 100 staff once it is fully up and running.
The new facility has been constructed on a lot which has stood vacant in the Bronx for three decades. Being the largest importers and manufacturers of specialty foods in North America, they have businesses located not only in New York, but also Atlanta, Chicago, and Santa Maria.
Importing products from over 25 countries, Krinos sells over 3,000 frozen and refrigerated foods, as well as dry food products to the American public. Among their products available to consumers, are cheeses, olives, olive oils, pasta, confectionery, canned goods and coffees and other beverages. They have a huge clientele of over 5,000 clients which include supermarkets, gourmet stores, delicatessens, club stores and other businesses across North America.

Some of the features of the new building include digital signage, solar power, top of the line freezers and refrigerators and an excellent warehouse management and security system, and a cash-and-carry for retailers.
There will be facilities to house production lines to enable the packing of jars, tubs, and bags, etc. The freezers and refrigerators will have customized temperature and humidity settings, depending on the product line. Other devices include a machine for sealing plastic cups, which is the first to be used in the United States.
Taking advantage of solar power will be almost 2,000 solar panels which will be able to generate substantial energy, enough to power 70% of what is required to run the facility and is one of the ten largest solar installations in New York. Furthermore, Krinos planted fifty-five trees in total to aid in the creation of a greener space in their surrounding community.
