Looking for companionship with potential for more in the future

Born in the USA of Greek parents with roots in two islands in the Northern Aegean. Proudly Greek-American. Introverted by disposition, but highly value "parea," social and cultural activities, and of course, education. I am a professional working in state government and although balancing work and family life is a priority, it is often a challenge. As my profile headline states, I am looking for companionship at this time with potential for more in the future. While having similar interests can be a plus, I also believe people can respectfully complement each other and therefore do not necessarily need to match interests across the board.

Insights
Describe the perfect evening.
That would really depend on the couple. I do believe that with the right person, the range of possibilities expands significantly; and of course, that's not even taking into account setting, mood, and place.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes--but whether that works out in the long term is another question.
How many kids would you like to have?
I have 2, but I would not rule out more.
How important is someone's physical appearance to you?
Important to a certain extent.
What is the purpose of marriage?
Since I am raising two young girls, I see the purpose within the context of a family.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
I'll go with Socrates' "The unexamined life is not worth living," or as Zorba would say it in examining the big questions: “Look, one day I had gone to a little village. An old grandfather of ninety was busy planting an almond tree. ‘What, grandfather!’ I exclaimed. ‘Planting an almond tree?’ And he, bent as he was, turned around and said: ‘My son, I carry on as if I should never die.’ I replied: ‘And I carry on as if I was going to die any minute.’ Which of us was right, boss?” ― Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
What do your friends like about you most?
Loyal and generous.
What do your friends tease you about the most?
Not being 100% up-to-speed on current pop culture.
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
Respect; commitment towards agreed upon values; shared stable, positive character traits. By nature, some degree of physical attraction is important, but I do not believe it is necessarily a good predictor of a successful long-term relationship or marriage. What is essential may be invisible to the eye. So, IF the goal is a long-term relationship, then simply matching interests and stated personality traits (what's the difference between spontaneity and impulsivity?) may not be the best way to choose a friend. And true friendship, I think, is the first step in forming a relationship. So, perhaps friendship developing over time, in varying circumstances and situations, can serve as an essential indicator of character. Also, while agreement on major issues is very important, I think couples could have complementary differences--which is different than being opposites--and have a successful, long-term relationship or marriage.
What's the best age to get married?
I think that totally depends on the individuals. While there may be some truth--and statistics to prove it--that being "too young" might not be conducive to a lasting marriage, I do think you have to be careful with blanket statements about age. Young people can be very mature and older adults may have a history of being immature. So, I'll somewhat weasel out of stating a "best age" and say that aside for concerns about having children, there's probably a fair amount of variability in what's the best age.
What turns you off?
The arrogantly self-righteous; irrational arguments; demagogic media personalities.
What turns you on?
Beautiful music; a gorgeous Mediterranean day (or a close USA facsimile); an exquisite dish, regardless of the cuisine; and classical beauty ( the ancient Greeks defined it as well as anybody).
